FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL & REPORT 

Week 2

Ms Qairul taught us the importance of Target Audience and the benefits that could brought to them. As usual, a mini exercise was given to us. I grouped up with Susie and Caroline, our topic was the targeted audience for Sponge Bob Square Pants. While the the other group was doing the Happy Tree Friends. Both of these are actually cartoons, but both of them are targeting different audience. 

So, yeap. Our target audience are mostly
-Kids and teens(early and late teens)  
-All genders
-Mostly students

Reasons why people watch Sponge Bob Square Pants.
a.)Animation & Illustration
    - The interesting and cute animation attracted people to watch.Where else can we find a talking sponge under the sea? Besides that, the voice actors did a great job pulling off the characters. 

b.)Interesting and Random storyline
     -The story is basically all about Spongebob's life under the water. Stories that people can't practice in their life. It is fantasy, allow people to inspire their imaginations. There's this episode where I recall back, Spongebob went for a hamburgercar driving lesson. Come on, where else can we find  a hamburgercar?

c.)Entertaining(Leisure)
-People watch Spongebob to kill time and they find the humor funny. Research was found that teens still watch Spongebob because it entertains them, the humors are straight to the point. Unlike ''Family Guy'', they actually add in politics into the show. Which makes audience who is not familiar with politics unable to get the humor.


d.)Trend
- Watching Spongebob is a trend in US. Everyone watches Spongebob. Thus, influences more people to watch Spongebob.

FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL & REPORT 
 Week 1
Did a fast exercise with other group mates about ''Effective Writing''. A group of 7 including me discussed in the class and did some research in the class and present in front of the class.

9 Factors that leads to Effective Writing
1.) Tone : What, Why, Who, When, How
     -To write a good essay, you have to know what you need to write in your essay. If so try asking yourself
       What do you want to write.
       Why are you writing this.
       Who are you writing to.
       When is this happening.
        How does it happen.


2.) Punctuation, grammar and spelling.
     - Always always check your punctuation, grammar and spelling before you hand in your essay. Having                such mistakes will lose your precious marks.
 

3.) Organizing your thoughts
     -Before starting your essay, It is best to organize your ideas before putting in. This way, your will get a fluent essay without repeating your points. Besides that, It shows you clearer which points & arguments is needed or not.


4.) Structuring paragraphs and sentences
    -Plan your flow of essay before you start. Explain one point in one paragraph allows reader to absorb easily. Make sure to have a strong heading and ending too, or else readers will get confused.


5.) Getting to the point
    -Make sure you are writing on the right track. Constantly refer back to your topic so that you won't write out of the topic.


6.) Elimination of unnecessary words
   -Avoid unnecessary words and straight to the point. Readers will find it boring for dragging the essay too long.


7.) Writing to keep the reader engaged
   -I'm sure everyone doesn't like long grandma stories. Keep your essay interesting to capture the readers interest and VIOLAH!


8.) Proof read
  - This is the MOST MOST important steps. Please read your essay again and again to spot any flaws.


9.) Use of non-discriminatory language
    -You got to be extra be careful on your words. Avoid discriminatory language and maintain correct use of English and style.

FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL & REPORT
Week 1 
I'm so sorry that I was late for the first class because I went to bursary to clear my fees along with the subject registration. Didn't know there's classes right until Ms Chong told me.

Although I've missed the first half of the class but still manage to know what's going on. So I paired up with Caroline Kung to discuss about our class exercise. Our topic was '' Small Unorganized Room'' since we could only pick a topic which is related to our firm (I'm from the Interior Design Course by the way).

Here's the notes that me and Caroline did, but I re-do it using computer because the original notes were too messy. =>

What causes a room to look small and packed?
First of all, It is mainly due to having too much furniture in the room, especially if it’s not properly organised. Besides that, bad lighting could be another major reason. Insufficient lighting causes the room to look small and dark due to the shadows casted by the furniture. By matching the wrong colors together, it will project a confusing, small and uncomfortable feel to the room. 


Solutions to overcome it
Minimizing the amount of furniture with the use of compact & multi-function furniture will create a larger space. Plus, it would better if we suspend the furniture on the wall. This way it will give an illusion of a larger space as more flooring area is exposed. 
As mentioned before, more windows should be built in to allow natural sunlight to peek in. Using black and dull colors on the wall is a big NO NO, It will only darken the room instead of lifting up the mood. Thus, painting the walls with cool bright colors definitely won't go wrong.
